 En outre, Dr Zwartjes a dirigé le groupe de recherche ROLD (Revitalising Older Linguistic Documentation) affilié à l’ACLC (Amsterdam Centre of Language and Communication) (2006-2017). Cette structure rassemble des experts venant de pays variés et se spécialise dans l’examen de de textes anciens divers (textes grammaticaux produits dans des contextes coloniaux ou non-coloniaux,​ missionnaires ou non-missionnaires ; vocabulaires rassemblés par des voyageurs et des historiens). Le but est de contribuer au progrès des connaissances dans les domaines suivants : linguistique historique, histoire de la linguistique,​ analyse socio-structurelle et traductologie. Les membres du groupe se réunissent deux fois par an pour présenter le progrès dans leurs travaux.
