 En outre, Dr Zwartjes a dirigé le groupe de recherche ROLD (Revitalising Older Linguistic Documentation) affilié à l’ACLC (Amsterdam Centre of Language and Communication) (2006-2017). Cette structure rassemble des experts venant de pays variés et se spécialise dans l’examen de de textes anciens divers (textes grammaticaux produits dans des contextes coloniaux ou non-coloniaux, missionnaires ou non-missionnaires ; vocabulaires rassemblés par des voyageurs et des historiens). Le but est de contribuer au progrès des connaissances dans les domaines suivants : linguistique historique, histoire de la linguistique, analyse socio-structurelle et traductologie. Les membres du groupe se réunissent deux fois par an pour présenter le progrès dans leurs travaux.  In 2006, Dr Zwartjes founded the ROLD Research Group (Revitalising Older Linguistic Documentation) which is affiliated to the Amsterdam Centre of Language and Communication (ACLC).  This academic association brings together expert scholars from different countries, and is unique in investigating older texts (colonial, postcolonial, missionary and non-missionary, word lists of travelers and historians) with the following objectives: historical linguistics, the history of linguistics, sociocultural analysis, and translation studies. Under Dr Zwartjes' leadership, ROLD organises a bi-annual meeting of international luminaries in order to further promote its research and findings.

Five volumes of selected papers arising from these prestigious conferences have been published with John Benjamins.

-Dr Zwartjes is currently Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) at the University of Amsterdam and Leiden University (International Studies) where he designs and delivers both postgraduate and undergraduate teaching in Spanish/Hispanic and Romance Linguistics and Translation Studies.  He is an expert and very experienced tutor and holds a Dutch teaching qualification.
